Nov 17 2009 The bubbles in the fuel filter may be caused by 1 blocked vent 2 pump cavitation or pump problem. If you live in the south there is a mud dobber fly that loves to build its nest in vacuum hoses and fittings. If the tank was inspected a wire probe should have been run into all of the fittings to make sure they are open.
Apr 18 2013 The problem that I am chasing now is bubbles in my fuel lines. I installed clear fuel lines as a diagnostic tool when I changed the injectors. I tried a filter housing rebuild kit and then a whole new assembly complete with wif sensor filter bleed screw etc. I am getting a lot less bubbles now and it looks like the source is before the ficm.
May 01 2012 When this problem started I checked the fuel lines for bubbles and sure enough there were lots. I have replaced the four clear plastic fuel lines with genuine merc ones complete with new o rings but still air bubbles emerging from filter when engine running the amount of air bubbles increases with engine speed there doesn t appear to be any
Sep 24 2016 In my view the only plausible reason for the number of bubble in your fuel line system is a flaw in the fuel pump diaphragm or flaw in the casting. It s unlikely the amount of air in the video could be introduced in any other manner without an accompanying massive fuel leak. Z.
Nov 03 2016 Capped fuel in fitting and tested filter with a lowerunit vacuum gauge ok Replaced fuel pickup still saw the air bubbles I googled racor air bubbles and found a racor bulliten explaining that it is normal and ok the see the bubbles.
Jan 22 2020 New User Forum. 50 Chevy air bubbles visable in glass fuel pump. My 50 Chevy Styleline Special 216.5 is completely restored and has run great for many years. The car has been in the family since new. Lately I have had a problem that feels like an intermittent partial miss like a mild bump during acceleration.
Jan 12 2012 Hello Thank you air bubbles in filter as you know is sucking air so I would start at tightening all fittings if this does not help run a a line from a fuel container direct to filter housing and this should clear it up if does replace that line Wayne
1. Locate the fuel filter and loosen the drain plug A of the fuel filter. Mitsubishi Triton / Mitsubishi L200 4th generation fuel filter. Mitsubishi Triton / Mitsubishi L200 5th generation fuel filter. 2. On top of the fuel filter is a hand pump. Slowly operate the hand pump B 6 or 7 times in order to force the water out through the drain plug.
Sep 04 2021 Noticed stream of bubbles flowing through fuel filter. Only does it when hot and running for awhile. After pausing for a short time it will mow again but not longer that 10 30 seconds. Guessing I need to check tightness of fuel line connections and check a possible obstruction. Definitely sounds like a fuel problem.
When you change a diesel fuel filter run out of fuel or disturb the fuel system air is trapped. When you try to start the engine this air acts as a lock preventing the normal supply of fuel into the cylinder. Here are the steps to take in bleeding air from a diesel fuel system 1. Turn off fuel valve. 2. Clean outside of filter housing. 3.
Nov 05 2013 79. Air in the fuel supply system can cause. rough run white smoke and low power. To check for air in the fuel system remove. the return line to tank from fuel pump. module from the fuel pump module. Install a 1/4 ID hose to the fuel pump. module and place the other end of the hose. into a diesel fuel safe container.
Sep 14 2015 The vacuum leak is in the Racor assembly somewhere. I don t see bubbles in the view glass at the bottom I refitted all the hose barbs with fresh gas/solvent rated fuel dope so I think that the last place that is likely to leak is the gasket where the filter meets the housing. Does anyone have any tricks for making that seal better.

Dec 11 2020 Sounds like a clogged fuel filter or a line blockage. If there Is a blockage filter or line the output port of the separator is having a vacuum pulled on it causing the fuel to bubble. There is air entrained in diesel fuel and under vacuum there
Jul 21 2010 Afterwards while the engine was idling I noticed that the pump bowl was pushing a lot of bubbles and that the filter bowl was only a third to half full. I cannot find any gas leaks in the system. Is this indication of a failing fuel pump or what Nick Z. Re Air bubbles in fuel pump. NickZ #663491 Mon Jul 19 2010 12 10 AM. Joined Feb 2006
Jul 23 2016 I have an 06 mini z with Kawasaki motor 52 inch cut The machine cut out on me today. I believe it was a fuel problem. I notice that not much flow in fuel filter. few bubble and some weak flow When I squeezed the fuel lines each side after switching shut off to each tank side I noticed that the fuel seemed to flow faster.
Dec 25 2021 Posted Fri Dec 24 2021 7 34 pm Post subject Re changing fuel filters on 5600. Change filter. Turn on the fuel. Loosen bleed screw on top of filter until fuel runs all the air bubbles out. Tighten bleed screw. Loosen small bleeder on the side of the CAV pump. Crank engine over making sure it squirts a good stream of fuel.
Aug 06 2013 Fitted new line from tank to pump just a bit of flexible fuel hose since the replacement part is very expensive. But still there is air being drawn into the line which gathers as a bubble in the filter which all heads off the the injector pump at most bumps and every left turn.
Bubbles are seen flowing in with the fuel. Check all fittings and lines from the fuel tank to the Fuel Processor. Check lower and upper collar o rings. There is a power complaint and the fuel level is below the collar. Check for a missing grommet at the lower end of the filter or missing/broken spring at top of filter.
Aug 23 2011 think of this logically if you get a fitting that fits the inlet or supply side of the fuel pump and connect it to a 6 8 foot section of fuel line then hold the fuel line into a gallon fuel tank/gas can thats full of fuel and use that as a test and the fuel filter still shows air bubbles its very likely the pumps defective if it cures the
Dec 22 2015 i found that without a 10 micron filter protecting the fuel pump inlet.. i end up with sediment in the pump and reduced vacuum and reduced fuel pressure. or pulsing fuel pressure. when i pull the hose off the carb.. i can usually blow bubbles in the fuel tank.
Jun 26 2011 I have checked and replaced every vacuum line on my 150cc SUNL scoot. however it still has air bubbles in my fuel filter. It will idle regular for a minute then it will idle up real high and the filter fills with bubbles and the fuel empties out then it will come back to normal idle with little bubbles in the filter.
Nov 12 2016 This after a filter change. I can see few bubbles popping for the middle on my racor and I have hard time to prime it or at least to create enough vacuum to make sure fuel comes to the inlet of the filter. Symptoms are I bleed start the engine it dies 5 minutes later after half of the racor is emptied.

With transparent fuel pipe tiny air bubbles are usually visible in the fuel as it pulses towards the heater which can be a very useful diagnostic check on fuel flow. Dereks calculations on 1.5mm internal diameter piping show fuel moves just over a cm per pump stroke giving the bubble spacing. They are present even if there are no air leaks.
May 06 2019 Air bubbles are caused by any air leak on the vacuum suc‑ tion side of the fuel system from the fuel tank pick‑up to and including the lift pump see Figure 1 . If there is an air leak in the fuel system air bubbles will be present in the clear cover of the Fuel Pro. Should I see air bubbles in my fuel filter Bubbles and partially
Jan 25 2016 Understanding how fuel filters work will help guarantee a safer engine room Every cruising powerboat has a primary fuel filter and Parker Hannifin’s Racor line dominates the market. At a recent TrawlerFest diesel engine class a number of questions came up regarding these filters. Having heard these questions before I realized that many of us do not
